Several PHGA members play the ANIMAL GAME during their round. The goal of this game is to help keep the player sharp during the round. Along with the guaranteed laughter, there is a side bet in this game. Each Animal is worth -$1 unless otherwise noted. The player holds the animal until another player takes it away (this may happen in seconds). The zookeeper keeps track of each animal that shows up in the wild on the front side and back side (Animals go back into the zoo after 9 holes). At the end of the round the zookeeper tallies up the number of animals and players pay the other players $1 per animal.

Decisions on the Animal Game:
- If two players land in a green side bunker, the last player to hit from the bunker will hold the animal.
- The last player to three putt will hold the animal (it pays to putt out first as a chance to avoid this animal).
- A player can have multiple animals on the same hole (or the same shot).
