Fall Ryder Cup

Captains: Ken Mattuck, Bob Mathison, Phil Frawley & Dave Thompson

We will be holding our annual Ryder Cup on Sept. 25 and 26 at Palatine Hills GC. The matches will consist of;

Saturday, October 16 – 9 hole 2 person better ball , 9 hole 2 person alternate shot
Sunday, October 17 – 18 hole individual match play

We will have 4 teams with 6 players each.

Entry fee is $20 per player (due when you sign-up).

The first 24 paid players will have priority.

2010 PHGA Ryder Cup	Format and Rules			

There are four teams consisting of 6 players each						

Entry fee is $10/person/day ($20 total)						

total purse is $480: 1st place team $300, 2nd place team $180						

Saturday matches are 9 holes better ball (front) and 9 holes alternate shot (back)						

Sunday matches are singles matches						

In alternate shot: one player hits from even number tees, the other from odd tees  						

Every hole is worth one point (1/2 point for tie). Each match is worth 18 points						

Every hole counts for team points so every match will continue thru 18 holes						

All better ball matches will play off the lowest hdcp in the foursome
Alternate shot is calculated at 1/2 of 50% of the team aggregate hdcp
All Sunday singles matches will play off the lower hdcp in each individual match						

All play governed by USGA rules of golf for match play except for local rules
for OB & lost ball - confer between sides. Hazards are not Environmental.						

Leaf rule is in effect: take drop from where you believe ball is in leaves,
no nearer the hole. No penalty as if playing ground under repair.						

In Saturday matches teammates are partners and may share advise.
In Sunday matches teammates are not partners and may not share advise.						

please observe 'honors' for which side is away for determining order of play.						

please maintain place of play: concede short putts to your opponent and
pick-up if you are out of the hole						

Handicaps as of 10/4/10 (draw date) are being used						

The ball will be played as it lies thru the green: no improved lies 						

Prepared scorecards will be distributed with allowed strokes marked on each
