2011 PHGA 2-Person Scramble Rules
Each player tees off each hole from the Blue Tees except for the GEM Players, who will play from their normal GEM Tees and must use a minimum of 6 drives. The scorecard should reflect whose drive is used on each hole and the gross score should be recorded for each hole.
The best of the tee shots is selected from one of the two players in the 2-person team. Their next shot is played within 1 club length from the ball selected no nearer the hole (except on the green, the ball must be played within one putter head). The ball must be played from similar conditions, i.e. if it is in the bunker, play it in the bunker or if it is in the rough, play it in the rough. Even if the fairway is within a club length from the ball spot selected. The best of the second and subsequent shots is determined and so on until the ball is holed.
Teams will be divided into two groups A group & B group. 2-person groups will be based on handicaps. The handicaps from both players will be added together then divided by 2; the result is then multiplied by 80%. That handicap will be applied to the gross score turned in at the end of the round from the score cards. I.e. John Smith is a 24, and Frank Rizzo is a 6 ……24 + 6 = 30 / 2 = 15 X 80% or a team Handicap of 12.
Prizes for each flight will be divided as follows:
A & B flights:
1st Place 50% of prize pool for each flight
2nd Place 30% of prize pool for each flight
3rd Place 20% of prize pool for each flight
In the event of ties the prizes money will be divided evenly between the ones that tied for that position.
