2011 Takahashi Classic :: Palatine Hills Golf Association

This event honors the memory of Jim Takahashi and the organization he founded. The PHGA is based on the objective to promote the best interest of the game of golf, good fellowship and sportsmanship among the association members.

Main Event Play:
2-player team net for the 2 days of play.
Championship Net-Total and and Best-Ball Supplemental Event payouts.
Top 5 finishing teams upon completion of the classic will receive payouts.

Event Entry Fee: $150 per Team

SIGN-UP BEGINS SATURDAY AUGUST 21st.
Sign-up Envelopes are in the in the Palatine Hills Clubhouse.
THERE IS NO SIGN UP LIST IN THE PROSHOP.
1. Fill out the front of the envelop. Be sure to make your dinner choices.
2. Payment by Check or Cash $150 (make checks payable to the Palatine Hills Golf Association).
3. Seal the envelope by removing the adhesive protector.
4. Put the envelope in the BLACK BOX in the Main Clubhouse.

The Takahashi Classic is a team event, payment must be submitted as a Team Total, $150, at signup.
EVERY TEAM MUST ENTER THEIR INFORMATION ON THE SIGN-UP Envelope.
Please note your dinner choice on the entry form.

Sign-up deadline is Monday, September 5th, 2pm.

We are limited to 50 two-player teams that qualify. The first teams signed
up correctly have priority. To be signed up correctly, the application
needs to have all blanks filled in and the entry fee must be paid.

Classic Event Formats:

Takahashi Classic Championship
- Format: Two Player Net Total
- Playoff for Title and Trophy and First Place Prize Money
- Other Places Split Prize Money for Ties
- Two Player Net Total Sudden Death Playoff Format
- Golf Club Professional will determine starting hole for Playoff

Best-Ball Supplemental Event
- Format: Two Player Better Ball

Event Tee-times
Start daily at 7:30am and go through approximately 9:00am.
- We have a drawing for the Saturday Tee-time slots at the Smoker.
- You play to your way into the Sunday Tee-time slots.

IMPORTANT – PLAYING RULES
Each team will be given a printed copy of the 2011 rules sheet at the Smoker.
Rules sheets will be made available on the Saturday morning of the event.
Every participant must read the tournament rules.

PHGA Round Requirements for the 2011 Takahashi Classic

All Members must complete 10 rounds with the PHGA by Thursday September 8th.

(Thursday September 8th is the last Thursday Pot Game before the Classic.
The Thursday scores will be entered into the computer and the handicaps will
be calculated for the Classic. Updated handicap sheet will be provided at the Smoker)

Special Note: Members can petition the PHGA board for an entry exemption allowance
if they have a health, family and/or situational issue which impacts their ability
to meet the 2011 tournament round requirements.

If you are looking for a partner to play in the event, use the e-mail system,
ask around prior to the smoker and/or let a board member of the
tournament committee know and we will do what we can to help find you a
playing partner.

Takahashi Classic Fall Smoker
WHEN: THURSDAY September 8th at 7pm
WHERE: Palatine Hills Club House.

- This event is funded entirely by the supplemental entry fees for the Takahashi Classic.
- 2011 Weekly Event Payouts will be made to winners by check.
- Supplemental Team entries will be conducted ONLY at this event.
- A buffet and drinks will be provided.
- 2011 PHGA Elections will be held at the Smoker.

Takahashi Classic Awards Barbecue
WHEN: Follows the Championship on Sunday September 11th
START TIME: Arrivals start at 1:30pm. Dinner at 4:00pm.
WHERE: Birchwood Recreation Center

Saturday, August 20th – Sign-up sheets in Clubhouse and Proshop.
Sunday as needed – Pick-up Signup Entries and update web Roster.
Monday, September 5th – Last day to Sign-up.
Tuesday, September 6th – BBQ Chairman notified of dinner counts.
Thursday, September 8th – Last day of play for 2010 qualifying rounds.
Thursday, September 8th – Smoker at the Clubhouse.
Saturday, September 10th & 11th – Classic Play
